Chicks in Room 6

                       The chicks in room 6

Last Tuesday a woman named Jo came to Room 6 with eleven eggs. The eggs were in a red box called an incubator. She also came with a blue square called an brooder. She said "they will hatch on Wednesday or on Thursday. On Wednesday I said to Mrs Agnew, "good morning. Have they started hatching yet?"

Then I checked the eggs in the red incubator They hadn't hatched, but later on while we were doing R.E when I walked passed the eggs, I heard something that came from the eggs. I looked at the eggs and I saw a crack on one of the eggs. I told Sulia and Laura and then they told Mrs.Agnew.

We were excited to see them hatch on Thursday. On Thursday when I came to school I saw that some of the Room 1 and Room 7 people were crowding around the chick table. I didn't know what was going on so I quickly put my bag up on a hook and ran inside and said "Whats going on?"

I saw... THE CHICKS HAVE HATCHED! They looked SO CUTE and FLUFFY. I saw 2 girl chicks and 5 boy chicks. We were so excited to see the other eggs hatch. Later on all of the eggs hatched and now there were nine boy chicks and still 2 girl chicks.

On Wednesday (Day 4 I think) We held the chicks and one of them kept on chirping loudly. Mrs Agnew told us that they were probably feisty, and scared. Their feathers felt so soft and fluffy like wool but their toe nails looked sharp and spiky but it didn't really hurt. Some of the chicks that some of us were holding fell asleep.

Daniel and his siblings took the chicks to their home for the weekend. They were so lucky. I thought that they were just chosen to have them over at their home for the weekend. On Monday I saw Daniel and his Mom holding a box. I got really confused so I checked what was happening and then I saw that the box had the chicks in it. Zachary and Ethan came in to see the chicks. There was a blanket in the box. Then later on Daniel told me and Justin that we had to refill the chicks food, put sawdust down for their beds on top of the newspaper.

On the 30 of March Mrs.Agnew told us that the chicks were going to go to their home. I was shocked. I was very sad to hear about that. On Thursday (Last Day :C) when we were learning we saw Jo walk in. Then all of a sudden we cried out NO! Then when Jo left Sulia, Zachary,Daniel, and I started to shed tears. All of us were sad but that never stopped us from learning. We all hope that the chicks will be safe.

Flower Vase Painting

                                                   Flower Vase Painting

I chose to colour the Flower Vase picture because I love colouring flowers on a colouring app at home and I wanted to see what it would look like with these new colours. I felt  happy when I finished painting my Flower Vase but when I saw Jamie's her one is magnificent.

For Mrs Grant

thank you Mrs Grant for sharing us the Activities:D

Receiving my new dictionary

                                               Receiving my new dictionary

Yesterday visitors came to Room 6. Their names were Mrs Kearns and her friend Carol. They were from the Pakuranga Rotary club. They were called the "Word Fairies." Word, Fairies give kids dictionaries with pictures, meanings, and grammars. 20,000 kids in NZ Samoa,Tonga, and Fiji received the "Word Fairies" dictionaries last year. Each one of the year 4 students had a turn to get a dictionary and write their names in it and keep it. Everyone got a dictionary and Mrs Agnew took photo's with her phone  and Mrs Kearns phone. It was time for Mrs Kearns and her friend coral to go. All of us said "Goodbye and thank you for the dictionaries"

🎉The Best Day Of My Life🎉

The Best Day Of My Life

Last Tuesday morning, my sisters, my cousin and I went to our Aunty’s house. We said goodbye to everyone at home and then our Aunty picked us up and took us to her house.

When we got there April and I went on their PS4 to play Crash Bandicoot 3. It was fun and then in the afternoon we all went to the museum. I think I liked the dinosaurs area the best. They are so big and I’m pleased they don’t live anymore.

After that we went to McDonalds and then decided to go to Mission Bay Beach. Before that we went back to our parents house and got our swimming suits, sun cream, and hats and then we headed to Mission bay.

At Mission Bay I went straight into the water without my swimming suit and as I went in there I felt rocks. They hurt my feet so I got out of there quickly but then I saw Summer wearing her shoes so I got my shoes on and then I went in the water.

Summer said to me and April that after the rocks there’s sand. I thought that was strange but I still swam but then I wanted to change into my swimming suit. So I went to the bathroom and got changed and went back into the sea for another lovely swim.

When I was on the sand side I didn’t know what to do with my shoes so I pretended they were flippers and then I grabbed some sand then spread it all around me so it looked like I’d gone to the toilet but no one saw me.

Later on my Aunty, my Cousin, Jayden, Summer, April and I decided to go in for another swim. I accidently drank some water that tasted so salty I kept on spitting it out.

When we got home we all showered and changed and guess what? Aunty came home with some pineapple, pepperoni, and ham pizzas from Dominos for us. So delicious and such a surprise.

Later that day we watched the movie on Disney channel  called Mulan (the Human version). It was so awesome and the end to a really exciting day.

Helping Others During Lent

During Lent I am going to help other people in several ways.  Firstly I am going to help Laura and Justin to speak in Samoan because they want to learn.

Secondly I am going to help Mikey to look after God's creations because God gave them to us to look after.

Thirdly I am going to help my little brother Jackson by giving him his bottle.

Fourthly I am going to help my teacher by cleaning our classroom.

Fifthly I am going to help myself by looking after our common home because it is nice for all of us to have a tidy home.

Lastly I am going to help the Room 2 people by teaching them not to throw the bark in the playground at each other.  I am going to teach them that this is important because it may get in the eyes and their hair.
